DisabledGo:
In January Paul Silvester and I went to Marks and Spenser for an introduction to DisabledGo. which is an organization to empower people to get out and do what they want to do in their community, or in towns and cities they would like to visit".
The DisabledGo web site shows a list of places such as, pubs, shops, theatres, restaurants and places of interest that are accessible to the disabled. Royal National Institute of the Blind:
The established campaigners for the blind and visually impaired. Their sites has many facets including the latest news, campaigns, help and advice on eye conditions. There is also a newsletter and thier famous 'talking book service. Go to the RNIB site
Talking Newspapers:
You can subscribe online to Talking Newspapers who provide national and local newspapers and magazines on audio tape, computer disk, e-mail, internet download and CD-ROM for visually impaired and disabled people who find reading a strain.
A-Sites Search:
The National Library for the Blind have set-up "A-Sites" as an online search engine that aims to expose the rich resources of the internet as a library portal of accessible websites. The websites and services listed in their directory are available to the disabled. Go to A-Sites
