On the 3rd of September, Randall and I were invited along to a special award presentation at an hotel in York. We were able to take a guest each, so we invited our chair Lady and our Secretary, Val and Fred Winn.
The hotel was called the Moat House, which was situated, by the river, just a short walk from the station. We had a very enjoyable meal with plenty of wine. The meal was followed by several speeches, and then the award presentations.
There were 23 people given the awards. We were all given a certificate and a cut glass tumbler with the inscription, (Community Champion) engraved on one side.

I received mine for the Exhibition that was held at the Memorial Hall in April.
